SAFW: Thabo Makhetha AW16 Collection

Thabo Makhetha’s AW16 collection for SA Fashion Week demands the descriptions of “Sophisticated”, “African”, “Chic” and so perfectly aligns to what her brand is known for.  I loved the personification of African culture being moulded in a way that manages to perfectly balance tradition with modern.

The upbeat, African music in the background also complemented items showcased. The crowd loved it too, exclaiming at each of the pieces as they were strutted down the runway.

So if your aim is to celebrate African culture, this collection will do just that. Moreover, the diversity offered caters to a whole range of sartorial tastes…

This item, which offers a modification of the pea-coat, would be suitable for the woman who prefers a structured look …

For a less structured, hooded option, this item will keep you stylishly covered for those rainy days…

Or an open poncho to throw over your ensemble for those chilly autumn days…

There’s also an option for the woman who loves dresses to keep warm without compromising…

This trench coat offers an edgy twist on the classic winter staple…

The collection also offers options for the business woman such as this strikingly beautiful pencil skirt…

Or this chic jumpsuit….

For the woman who’d like an air of drama the following items would match perfectly in either white…

Or black…

Simply stunning!
